Turkey Hill School officials held an interactive assembly on empathy for students Monday in Orange.
The project, called "Our Gift of Empathy," teaches kids about how small actions can have a big impact on other people.
Organizers say the goal of the event was to teach students to see through each other’s eyes and include kids who feel left out.
"If we can instill that in the children through activities, through projects, through teaching and learning then we'll actually be building a world where children are building relationships and being kind to each other,” says teacher Dan Zottoli. “At the end of the day, we are how we treat each other."
They say they plan to make a video to share with other elementary schools in the area to further promote empathy.
