Milford man accused of molesting 5-year-old

MILFORD -

Police arrested a Milford man Tuesday for allegedly sexually abusing a 5-year-old girl over the past two years.

The arrest warrant says the girl told her mother she didn't want to see 28-year-old Derek Hagedorn anymore at his home on Judith Drive.

"The victim's mom was very surprised by this," says Officer Mike DeVito, of the Milford Police Department. "Never once did she suspect this at all. She was taken aback by it and immediately reported it."

Police say the girl has not suffered any medical injuries.

They say the child told her mother, who subsequently alerted the Department of Child and Family Services.

Police say no other girls were victims.

Hagedorn is being held on $100,000 bond.
