Fundraiser planned for first responders hurt in barn explosion

A fundraiser will be held to help first responders hurt in a barn explosion on May 2.

The nine officers from East Haven, North Haven and Branford were a part of the regional SWAT team who responded to a standoff after a domestic dispute.

The fundraiser is scheduled for May 24 at the Stony Creek Brewery in Branford, according to the Hartford Courant.

Several of the officers reportedly have a long road to recovery.
