Drivers prepare to hit the road for Memorial Day weekend

Over 36 million Americans are expected to take a road trip this Memorial Day weekend, according to AAA.

Some drivers say they are heading to different areas such as Ohio, North Carolina and Virginia Beach. They say planning and patience can save a lot of frustration while traveling.

"We like to leave in the middle of the night, drive through the night, lot less traffic that way," one driver says.

Other motorists, such as truck drivers, say they will be working this weekend and will be hitting the road a little early to avoid holiday traffic.
