Hundreds of fishermen and disabled military veterans were out on the Long Island Sound Saturday participating in a tournament to raise money for families of wounded soldiers.
Members of the Halloween Yacht Club in Stamford hosted the 7th annual Hooks for Heroes fishing tournament with all proceeds supporting disabled veterans and their families.
Patriot Bank helped support the event, helping wounded veterans make the trip from Walter Reed Military Hospital in Maryland.
All proceeds go to Operation Gift Card, a project of the Disabled American Veterans Stamford Chapter.
Over the past six years the tournament has raised more than $50,000 for wounded soldiers.
