North Brunswick police have arrested three men after a robbery at a warehouse.
Police say that the three men went into the warehouse at 1675 Jersey Ave. armed with a handgun and assaulted the unarmed security guard inside. Police say the men then tried “a significant theft of merchandise from that facility.”
Authorities say that the security guard was able to escape and called police. When the officers arrived, they found the men leaving the warehouse. One of the men got into a box truck and drove away. Police chased the truck, which then crashed. Officers arrested the driver after a short foot chase.
The county SWAT team came in to help apprehend the other two suspects, who were found hiding near the warehouse.
Police recovered a gun from the scene.
Officials identified the suspects as Axell Mendoza, 30, of North Bergen, Alex Pelerigo, 50, of Elizabeth, and Jun Jang, 31, of Iselin.
All three men are facing several charges, including robbery, burglary and possession of a weapon.
