Police have arrested a Greenwich man on child pornography charges.
The special victims unit of the Greenwich Police Department says it received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
John Zimmel, 20, allegedly had more than 130 videos of child pornography, more than 60 images and multiple incriminating online chats at his home on Wildwood Drive.
Zimmel was not previously registered as a sex offender, and police say they have no knowledge of him having actual contact with children.
Neighbors say they're stunned.
"I can't imagine people doing what they do sometimes," says Laurie Prose.
Zimmel posted a $100,000 bond and is due in court at the end of the month.
Norwalk, Darien and state police assisted in the investigation.
