A bar in Norwalk hosted a fundraiser for a 10-year-old girl battling a brain tumor Sunday.
The fundraiser was arranged through Music for Angels, an organization set up in celebration of premature babies and in honor of stillborn babies.
On Sunday, BJ Ryan's Banc House on River Street celebrated Brooke Blake, who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor three years ago.
The money, that was raised with donations, raffles and auctions, will go toward Blake's medical bills and treatments.
"I always ask for prayers," says Blake's mother, Madeline Blake. "But in a situation where we are incurring a lot of costs, it does help to have these type of benefits and fundraisers, so we really appreciate it."
Blake's mom says her daughter travels to Mexico every six weeks for treatment that is working well for her.
She says the treatment is not covered under her insurance so the family pays out-of-pocket.
