Trumbull has unleashed a new tool to prevent potentially deadly mosquito bites.
Residents can pick up from the town Health Department what are called Mosquito Dunks. The doughnut-shaped bug busters go in standing water, like in a pond, to attack mosquitoes where they live.
Mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus this year in places like Stratford, Bridgeport and Greenwich.
Peak mosquito season doesn't normally happened until August, but it appears to have begun early this year.
