Police: 11-year-old Coram girl left in hot SUV dies

Police say a child died after being left in a hot SUV in Coram.
Police say they received the 911 call from a home on Kathleen Crescent just before 4 p.m. about an unresponsive 11-year-old.
"The call was for a young child left in a car whose lips were turning blue. The call came in from the victim's mother. The mother brought the child into the house and was instructed to do CPR. Coram Rescue, 6th Precinct Patrol officers responded, assisted with CPR," Det. Lt. Kevin Beyrer Suffolk Police.
The girl, who has not been identified, was rushed in an ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she later died.
Police say the girl's mom had been running errands yesterday with her three kids.
After they returned home, the girl's mom went inside believing all of the kids were out of the car.
Sometime later police say, the mother couldn't find her 11-year-old and checked inside the family's Ford Expedition SUV.
