Victims of the shooting at the “Art All Night” festival in Trenton earlier this year have filed a lawsuit against the city and the Trenton Police Department.
The shooting happened June 17. At least 22 people were injured – 17 of them from gunshots.
The Trentonian reports that more than a dozen victims are taking legal action in the wake of the shooting. The joint lawsuit claims police made the situation worse by closing and locking certain doors before the event ended. To date, 18 people have taken legal action.
Authorities say that a gang dispute led to the shooting. Trenton police shot and killed one of the suspects.
“Art All Night” organizers say that despite the shooting, they hope to be back next year.
