The ferry service that is set to shuttle passengers from Glen Cove to Manhattan could cost commuters more than anticipated.
Newsday says a study on the proposed service has found that operators will need to charge an estimated $45 round trip to just break even.
No routes or prices have been finalized, however.
Glen Cove has to meet a Jan. 1 deadline to start the service or it risks having to pay back more than $16 million in grants to the federal government.
