Basketball players say court at Stamford park is dangerous

STAMFORD -

Basketball players say a popular court in a Stamford park is in such bad shape that it's dangerous.

Neighbors tells News 12 that the fractured blacktop at Scalzi Park is challenging to deal with, and could cause athletes to get hurt.

They say players are forced to slow down and look down, and that efforts to patch things up have not held.

People also point out that the tennis courts just steps away are in better condition.

A spokesperson for the city says repairs will be considered in next year’s budget.
