Police: Driver killed, wife critically injured when SUV strikes pole, tree
Police in Franklin Township say a single-vehicle crash has left a man dead and his wife critically injured.

According to police, Jorge Cervantes, 26, of Williamstown, was driving an SUV southbound on Main Road when the vehicle entered the northbound lane Tuesday around 7:45 p.m. and went off the roadway.
Police say the SUV then struck a utility pole and a large tree before coming to a stop.

Cervantes, and his wife, Mary Ortiz, 24, both suffered severe head injuries and were flown to a hospital.
Cervantes was pronounced dead there a short time later, while Ortiz remained hospitalized Wednesday in critical, but stable condition.

Another passenger in the SUV, Emmanuel Ortiz-Rosas, 27, of Williamstown, was treated for minor injuries.
AP wire services helped contribute to this report.
