Crews salted roads Sunday as the Garden State dealt with wet, slushy and snowy conditions.

Bergen County Public Information Officer Michael Pagan tells News 12 they used 260 tons of salt Sunday and a few inches of snow is still expected to hit Paramus on Monday.

Several trucks were seen salting the roads, as drivers were advised to slow down. One sign said, "Clear the roads so we can clear the roads."

Neighbors say they are expecting a day off from work, while others are stocking up on treats as they expect to stay in the house.

New Jersey's Office of Emergency Management tweeted that rain can quickly turn to ice when temperatures are near freezing. Officials are advising residents to be careful and leave extra time if they have to travel.

The Bergen County Executive says they will have more than 50 salters and plows ready for Monday.

Pagan says crews will be back to work to get more salt 7 a.m. Monday.
