Authorities: House fire in Florence Township leaves 1 dead; another injured

A house fire in Burlington County left one man dead and a woman hospitalized.

The fire started just after 2 a.m. Tuesday in the home on Amboy Avenue in Florence Township. Fire officials say that it took crews about two hours to get the fire under control.

Authorities say that two people were able to escape the fire. Firefighters found one man dead inside the home. His name was not released.

Officials say that the man’s adult daughter was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
