A 25-year-old man was charged Friday in connection with accidentally shooting a teen in the neck.
Police say Brian Gregg did not have a license for the gun that accidentally discharged while he was cleaning it. According to court documents, Gregg had a Glock 19 that he says he got from a friend in 2015 while he was a Marine. Police say he also had other guns.
His brother's 17-year-old friend was shot in the neck. That's when police say Gregg was involved in a four-car crash at the intersection of Old Country Road and Manetto Hill Road in Plainview as he was rushing the victim to the hospital.
According to police, Gregg was cleaning his firearm, at which point it appears it accidentally discharged. The bullet ended up entering the neck area of the 17-year-old that was in the home and exited the shoulder area.

One of the cars involved in the four-car crash was driven by an off-duty female officer, who police say jumped into action.
"That officer had just gotten off of duty and that officer, even though she was injured, ran that accident scene. Basically, she called the police, she kept everybody at the scene and she controlled the situation until her other officers got to the scene," said Det. Lt. Richard Lebrun.
Gregg is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
