New limonene safety measures are on the way following two deadly crashes, including one on Long Island.

The agreement between Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office, the Senate and the Assembly comes after the 2015 limo crash in Cutchogue that killed four young women and another crash near Albany that killed 20 people.

The 10-point plan includes seat belt requirements, increased fines for illegal U-turns, new commercial driver license requirements for limo drivers and more stringent oversight of the way the vehicles are manufactured and maintained. It also requires drug and alcohol testing for drivers of vehicles with nine or more passengers.

A phone hotline will also be created to report safety issues.

The bill was drafted with tremendous input from parents of the victims and survivors of the Cutchogue crash.

News 12 reached out to the Long Island Limo Association and is still waiting to hear back.
