Friends of one of the victims allegedly killed by a now-captured UConn student say he loved his life and the people around him.
Nicholas Eisele, 23, graduated from Newtown High School with Peter Manfredonia in 2015. He was one of Manfredonia’s two alleged victims before Manfredonia was caught by authorities Wednesday at a rest stop in Maryland.
His other alleged victim was Theodore DeMers, 62, of Willington.
Ashlee Honiker went to high school with Eisele and Manfredonia. She also worked alongside Eisele at a retail store in town.
"He was just someone who could be your best friend and someone you could talk to, and he wouldn't judge. He would be there to listen. He didn't talk much, and that's because he wanted to be there for other people. And that's what Nick was," she said.
News 12 also spoke with Manfredonia’s father on Thursday. He said he was happy there was a peaceful end to the multiple state manhunt.
A motive for the slayings has not yet been released.
