Stamford police rolled up their sleeves Wednesday to donate at a department blood drive.
Officer Jessica Bloomberg organized the drive at police headquarters. She says over 100 officers, along with a few firefighters from Stamford Fire Rescue, signed up to donate blood.
Representatives for the Red Cross say one donation can save up to three lives. They say demand is way up, as pandemic restrictions lift and hospitals start offering elective surgeries again.
The American Red Cross says if you'd like to host a blood drive to reach out. During the month of June, all blood donors will receive a $5 Amazon gift card.
