Shelton police officers rescued a person from a burning home early Wednesday, officials say.
The Shelton Fire Department responded to a house fire on High Street after 2 a.m.
Shelton police were the first on scene when an officer patrolling in the area noticed the fire.
Three other officers arrived on scene, and rescued one of the residents from the burning home.
Firefighters also found another person inside who was unresponsive.
The two rescued victims were taken to Bridgeport Hospital.
Officials say the three police officers were taken to Griffin Hospital for minor injuries and smoke inhalation.
