The Connecticut Department of Public Health has issued a "COVID-19 alert" for the city of Danbury due to a "significant spike" in new cases and is urging city residents to stay home if possible.
 Earlier Friday, the mayor tweeted that Danbury was reporting 44 new COVID-19 cases for the day, with no additional deaths.
