? The congregation at Our Lady of Peace in Stratford had its last Sunday mass with its priest as he prepares to lead a disheartened flock in Darien.
Church members say they will miss Father Frank McGrath, but understand he is needed more at St. John's Roman Catholic Church. McGrath says he buried his parents at Our Lady of Peace and his family remains in the community, but he is ready for the new challenge. He will assume duties at St. John's on June 5.
The Diocese of Bridgeport handpicked McGrath to lead the Darien church after Father Michael Jude Fay resigned amid allegations that he stole $200,000 from the church. McGrath says he prays for Father Fay.
