Family members and friends are mourning the loss of a Bridgeport teen who died Saturday after being stabbed in a street fight.
Police say 17-year-old Tavon Duharte, who attended Bassick High School, got into a fight Friday night with Davon Harris. Authorities say Harris, also a teenager, left and came back with a knife, which he used to stab Duharte. Harris later turned himself into police claiming self-defense. Relatives remember Duharte as a good basketball player and student.
Bridgeport Police Chief Bryan Norwood says detectives will continue to investigate the incident, even though a suspect is in custody. He is also calling on the community to help stop violence.
