Strong wind gusts around the state caused power outages and brought down tree branches, blocking roadways in some places.

Strong wind gusts around the state caused power outages and brought down tree branches, blocking roadways in some places.
The strong wind gusts brought down trees on East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich and on North Street near Lower Cross Road. Cars were forced to turn around because of a tree that came down on some power lines.
North Street near Lower Cross Road in Greenwich was shut down after a tree came down on some power lines.
Eversource was on the scene for around five hours before the road reopened.
Over in Wilton, there was a similar scene on Danbury Road.
A broken utility pole also fell on the street near Honey Hill Road.
There were ore problems on Borgum Road in town when a giant tree came crashing down closing the road between Musket Ridge and Forge roads.
Downed trees and power lines caused closures on Signal Hill and Horseshoe Roads, too.
