Several Weston Middle School students and staff members were sent to Norwalk Hospital Thursday afternoon to be checked out after having a reaction to candy.
The assistant principal sent an email to parents to let them know what happened.
Administrators tell News 12 that the high school took a trip to China earlier this month and a student brought back the candy in question, and then shared it with someone at the middle school.
They say nine children and two staff members were taken to the hospital after the candy gave their mouths a tingly feeling.
Police say the candy is being sent to the state lab as a precaution, and administrators are asking anyone else who may have brought candy home from the trip not to eat it.
