A group of students and two teachers in New Canaan are back in class Tuesday after a swine flu scare.

Officials at the New Canaan Country School asked a dozen students and the teachers not to come to class Monday as a precaution. The group was in Mexico last week and stayed in a town a few hours north of where the swine flu outbreak occurred.

School officials say they wanted to make sure there was no risk before letting the students back on campus. The school alerted the New Canaan Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control about the situation.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has raised the global alert to level 4 due to the swine flu. However, health officials say there is no reason to panic. Officials at Stamford Hospital say they have already started separating patients who appear to be suffering from flu-like symptoms.
