Washing your hands won?t stop the spread of swine flu, says a new study, despite all the emphasis health and school officials are putting on the practice.
The study, published in Newsweek, says there's actually no evidence washing your hands can prevent the virus, because influenza and H1N1 are caught through the air.
St. Vincent's Medical Center?s Chief of Infectious Diseases Dr. Jo-Anne Passalacqua says consistent hand washing is still necessary. Also, she says being germ conscious can only help keep you healthy.
Passalacqua also recommends vaccination.
