News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Michele Powers says Connecticut will see sunny skies and breezy conditions ahead of a mild week.
Coastal storm passes south of the area overnight, bringing rain and wind to some before the weekend wraps. Heading into Monday the weather will improve and warm up.
WHAT'S NEW: Tracking a low to the south that will slide south and east of the tri-state area overnight. This will just graze the tri-state area with some rain.
This storm may just be out of reach for Western Connecticut. Minimal chances of rain going into the overnight with a mostly cloudy sky. Winds will pick up for coastal areas going into Monday.
Temperatures will cool back into the 30s overnight.
Conditions improve Monday after a cloudy start. The storm will exit the area at this time. No rain is expected for the morning commute.
WHAT'S NEXT: Tracking another storm later in the week. A big warm up expected with more 60s in a few days, followed by another cool-down next weekend.
MONDAY: Partly sunny and breezy. Highs near 50 and lows in the 30s. Wind shifting west up to 15 mph.
TUESDAY: Sun and clouds with dry conditions for Valentine's Day. Highs approaching 50 and lows in the 30s.
WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy and warmer. Highs in the 50s and lows in the 40s.
THURSDAY: Increasing clouds with showers in the afternoon and evening possible. Highs around 60. Lows near 50.
FRIDAY: Rainy and windy. Highs in the 50s and lows around freezing.
SATURDAY: Sun and clouds with a breezy wind. Highs in the 40s.
