A suspected burglar was arrested Wednesday after taking police on a high-speed chase through Fairfield.
Fairfield police say they got a call around midnight Tuesday from a resident on Riverside Drive who claimed he was confronted by an intruder in his home. Police learned of two more similar incidents within a two-hour period. While responding, police encountered their suspect.
According to police, a wild car chase ensued with 36-year-old Hector Rodriguez, of Bridgeport. Police say Rodriguez came to a stop when the stolen car he was driving collided with a police cruiser.
Rodriguez faces a number of charges including burglary, larceny and reckless endangerment. Police say Rodriguez was also arrested in 1998 for several robberies.
