Connecticut residents who haven't filed their taxes yet have a matter of hours to meet the midnight deadline Tuesday. At the Bayview Postal Station on Boston Avenue, postal workers were busy collecting last-minute returns. Manager Bill Austin says that the U.S. Postal Service has already mailed out 97 million tax returns as of last weekend because people were encouraged to file their taxes on time to receive their 2008 stimulus check. Even with the extra mail coming in, Austin says things were running smoothly. The main post office in Stamford extended their hours until 8 p.m.
