Stamford's Cloonan Middle School is moving teachers to new classes in the fall as part of its ?house? system, but one educator worries students will be left behind.
Science teacher Sal Buchetto has been teaching in his room for 34 years and says while his new room is just as big, it was previously used to teach reading. Buchetto feels students will lose interest unless they are taught with a hands-on approach. Principal David Rudolph says Buchetto has been repeatedly told his classroom will have running water, burners and the necessary equipment when school starts September 5.
The principal says the "house" system will allow for better management, continuity and emotional stability of the children.
