Teen accused in Bridgeport shooting charged with murder
The Bridgeport teenager accused of shooting another teen to death over a gang rivalry last week was formally charged with murder Monday.
The judge set the bond for 19-year-old Deonte Tomlinson at $1 million.
Police say Tomlinson shot 17-year-old Kahlil Diaz Friday afternoon.
Police say Diaz was sitting in his car on Madison Avenue when Tomlinson shot him. Diaz was recently acquitted of another shooting.
Police have said the killing was part of an ongoing gang war between two rival housing projects, but friends of Diaz insist it was a set-up.
The shooting is the city's second homicide of the year.
