Norwalk police say a teenage girl was nearly abducted early Thursday morning.

Officials say the 16-year-old girl was walking in a residential neighborhood when out of nowhere she was attacked and hit on the back of the head. The girl says she came to just in time to escape her captor and notify the police.

Police say the case is still under investigation.
