A few Bridgeport teens got an up-close look at what it takes to be an award-winning chef.
Chef Wenford Patrick Simpson showed off his cooking skills at the Cardinal Shehan Center Monday.
Simpson says he hopes to inspire teens to eat fresher foods.
"Sometimes when they physically touch food, to eat, cook it, and deal with the ingredients of it, it will make them passionate about cooking," Simpson says. "And that's what I want to do, I want to ignite their passion in cooking."
The program also featured a cooking competition where all of the students tried to complete a dish in 3 minutes.
