(04/21/06) WILTON ? Wilton residents say a group of ferocious fowl are roaming the neighborhood and terrorizing children.
After a long absence from the area, wild turkeys are back with a vengeance in the Wilton community. Residents say the birds have been frequently biting young children and animals. According to one young boy, the sight of a group of turkeys is enough to send him and his friends screaming in the other direction.
Dogs, which have typically been used to scare the animals, no longer act as an effective deterrent. One homeowner says she?s discovered a cowbell works well to scare the animals off her property.
