The Amistad, the flagship of Connecticut, will be docked in Stamford for free tours starting this weekend. 
The replica of the 128-foot historic ship will be on display at Harbor Point Marina and open for free tours from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8, and from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15.
Stamford eighth grade students will also have the chance to tour the ship and to learn about its history.
At least 1,200 will be given the opportunity to go aboard the historic ship and learn lessons through an educational experience this month.
