A man from Torrington is facing a number of charges after a standoff and police scuffle put a school on lockdown.
Police responded Tuesday morning to a call about a man cutting himself in Alvord Park.
When police arrived, they found Austin Cyr wielding a box cutter and threatening to attack police.
Cyr wound up in the parking lot of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, prompting the school to go into lockdown.
Cyr was also found with drug paraphernalia.
