The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for northern Fairfield and northern New Haven counties effective through 1 a.m. Thursday.
News 12 forecasters say snow is falling in parts of the region, with intermittent periods of rain, before changing back into snow throughout the night.
The snow is expected to be heaviest in the inland areas, with rain remaining along the coast.
Areas with snowfall could see between 1 and 3 inches of accumulation.
After the rain and snow clear, Thursday morning is expected to be relatively clear.
