A Trumbull doctor says people who work night shifts need specialized care to avoid sleep, digestive and heart problems.
Dr. Chinyelu Oraedu is a lifestyle and obesity coach for night workers. Her No. 1 piece of advice that she gives to clients is to make sleep a priority and make sure the people in their lives respect their need for it.
"A lot of people are talking about it because there is a subset of people whom we have not really paid attention to,” said Oraedu. “In a 24-7 economy…we have to carry everybody along. Otherwise, we are going to pay for the ill health of this population of people."
She will be holding a Virtual Workshop for Night Shift Workers on April 29 at 6 p.m. for anyone interested.
