10h agoA solemn anniversary in Bridgeport Saturday as the city marks eleven years since two firefighters were killed in the line of duty.
The ceremony took place at the firehouse where Lieutenant Steven Velasquez and firefighter Mitch Baik worked.
They were killed fighting a house fire on Elmwood Avenue in 2010.
Officials say the men were searching the home to make sure nobody was inside when they became trapped and lost their lives.
