Volunteers in Stamford bring holiday cheer to children in need
Hundreds of teens donated their time Saturday to help children whose lives are affected by AIDS, homelessness, and poverty.Community members gathered at Luke's Lifeworks headquarters in Stamford to donate, wrap and deliver thousands of gifts to families less fortunate. Organizers estimate that the hundreds of volunteers wrapped close to 10,000 gifts. After being wrapped, the gifts go to 26 agencies before being delivered to almost 2,000 children.Participants say it feels good to help others during the holiday season.
