Western Middle School in Greenwich canceled its eighth-grade trip to the nation's capital because of concerns over swine flu.
A dozen students at the school have fallen ill with flu-like symptoms, while one has contracted swine flu.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Betty Sternberg says she consulted with local and state health officials and decided it is in the best interest of the students to cancel the trip.
Last week, the sixth grade class was on an overnight trip when 55 of them returned home early after getting sick.
