Hair stylists at Red Salon and Color Bar in Westport cut hair on Sunday to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from haircuts will be donated to the JDRF in Norwalk to help raise money to find a cure.
Angela Pirrone, a stylist at Red Salon and Color Bar, has a son with Type 1 diabetes.
"The women here are donating time and their efforts to help me because they love him. So it's awesome," says Pirrone.
Pirrone's 6-year-old son, Matteo, was diagnosed two years ago. She says while his daily routine may be different than most children, diabetes does not hold him back from doing what he loves.

Pirrone says she didn't set a monetary goal for the event. Instead, she hopes families of those with diabetes will do what they can to raise awareness, so that a cure can be found.
