School bus drivers in Westport have agreed on a new contract with the bus company Dattco.
Parents in the town were worried of a possible strike this morning by the drivers since there seemed to be no progress in the labor dispute.
Throughout the standoff, the school system kept a close eye on the situation, even alerting parents of the possible strike weeks ago.
"I think the schools have it covered pretty well,” says Eric Evans, a parent. “They in advance let us know what was happening, they gave us a protocol for the morning pickup and drop off."
The bus drivers' old contract expired back in April.  On May 3, they authorized their leadership to call a strike if need be.
