Whale sightings in Long Beach has city excited

The City of Long Beach is no stranger to beachgoers – but this time, it's not the sun and surf that have people flocking.

A recent barrage of whale sightings have residents excited.

"They're usually humpback whales," says resident Chris Jones. "It's really cool when you see them breaching, coming out of the water."

Jones is one of many who have seen whales off the city's shores. Others have captured the moments and posted them on social media.

Residents told News 12 that they can usually be found whenever boats are around.
