"Where the Wild Things Are" author and Ridgefield resident Maurice Sendak died early this morning. Maurice Sendak's caretaker says the 83-year-old passed away this morning at a hospital in Danbury after suffering a stroke Friday.Sendak wrote his classic children's book "Where the Wild Things Are" in 1964, shortly after moving into his home in Ridgefield. The Ridgefield Public Library took out some of his well-known books and put them on display today in remembrance of the local author.
