Widespread power outages are expected as Sandy bears down on southwestern Connecticut later tonight.
The worst of the storm conditions are expected late Monday into Tuesday. Wind gusts could reach up to 70 mph. And heavy rains could cause major flooding.
Connecticut Light and Power officials say they are ready for the worst with utility workers already on standby.
