Wilton Chamber of Commerce's Trump scarecrow vandalized
Wilton officials say a scarecrow of Donald Trump appears to have been vandalized.
The Trump scarecrow is part of the Wilton Chamber of Commerce's Scarecrow Fest. It had only been up for about two weeks along River Road before it was ruined on Monday.
Republican Town Chair Al Alper says the scarecrow held a Wilton Republican town committee sign and wore a "Make America Great Again" hat.
Alper says it saddens him that even a harmless town tradition isn't sacred.
"I don't know who did it, but the left has demonstrated a propensity for intolerance in spite of the fact that they claim to be tolerant," says Alper.
The town says the scarecrows will be on display until Halloween
