A mix of snow and rain Wednesday made quite a mess for southwestern Connecticut residents on one of the busiest travel days of the year.
In Wilton, about 2 to 3 inches of snow had accumulated by nightfall, bringing with it bitter temperatures and icy roads.
Once the snow tapered off, residents got back out on the road to do some last-minute Thanksgiving shopping.
Some say they even took the chance to do a bit of Christmas shopping.
